sutter fort

I went Sutter’s Fort. I did a lot of things there. I am going to tell you what my name is and what I did at Sutter’s Fort.
I am James Gregson. I was born in England in 1822. I married Elizabeth Marshall in 1843 in Rhode Island. I failed farming in Illinois. I was hired by John Sutter to cut lumber in the piney woods. I left to go fight Fremont’s Californian frontiers. I continued to work for Sutter. I gathered granite, and milestones for a gristmill on the American River.
Getting ready for Sutters Fort was kind of a pain. At home I got up at 4: 50 in the morning and started to get ready for Sutter’s fort. My grandma came with us. First I got up and got dressed. Then my mom asked me to go down to my grandmas house to get some clothes pines. And then we went to the school.
To go to Sutter’s fort I had to go to a history class. The history class was really long and boring. Sutter’s fort was much better. In one of the history classes this lady came in and taught us how to spin wool.
When we got to the school we had to get on a bus and ride on it to old Sacramento and get on a wagon. The wagon ride was kind of fun. It was embarrassing because these people kept on staring at us. This guy named Garret kept on saying hey dudes to the people.
When we got to the fort we found our leader and went to the black smith. At the black smith shop I learned how to make a lot of different things out of metal. The guy made a nail and a little horse head out of metal. I learned that you can make anything out of any kind of metal.
At the bakery we made cinnamon rolls. The cinnamon was our breakfast for the next morning. I love cinnamon rolls.
The next thing I did was spinning and weaving. Spinning is funner because you get to spin wool into yarn. There was this other thing and what you do with it is you put the yarn on this stick thing and you weave the yarn through the thing and you have your first piece of yarn done.
The next thing I did was rope making. I got a big piece of rope. The funnest thing was spinning the thing so that it turns into rope. The wagon buy the rope making was pretty cool. The wagon is only for the stuff that you have to bring. When you get to water they take the wheels of the wagon.
The last thing we did was work in the kitchen. Working in the kitchen was really fun. We made our dinner for the night.
The cannon was really cool but it was really loud. At lunch they had really good food. The best thing for lunch was the sausage.
The doctor demonstration was kind of freaky. The doctor said that some surgery’s have a 25% chance of you living. I don’t want to get surgery at all.
Dinner was really good too. We had steak for dinner. The steak was really good. Steak is my favorite kind of food.
At evening entertainment these guys came and played there instruments. The instruments they were playing were the banjo, and the guitar. They said some funny stuff.
When I went on the night watch it was really hard to find the robber. We found him under a bench. The night watch was fun.
It was actually comfortable sleeping at the fort. I slept well. I didn’t think I would sleep that well.
In the morning I think I was the first one up in the morning because there was no one up. We had cinnamon rolls for breakfast. I love cinnamon rolls.
I had a great time at Sutter’s fort. I learned a lot. My favorite part was the night watch.
