Washington D.C.

I went to Washington DC. I did lots of stuff there. We went to the monuments, the white house, and lots of other stuff. I really had fun. Here is what I did.

We had an airline called jet blue. I liked jet blue because it had Tvs in the back of every seat in the airplane. They had thirty six channels, but to watch a movie you have to slide your credit card.

It took about five hours to get there. I didn’t get really bored because I had my Nintendo and other things to do like watch TV. The channel I liked the best was the sports or the nickelodeon.

When we got there we had get of the plane and get our luggage. The things that the luggage comes off of is called a carousel. Once you see your luggage on the carousel you grab it and leave.

When we got to our hotel room I had to un pack my luggage, take a shower, and go to bed. When I was in bed my grand parents were staying up unpacking while I was in bed.

The next morning we went on a city tour. We went on a double decker bus. The bus went every where. We got off at the Arlington cemetery, and the national cathedral. At the cemetery there is over three thousand people buried there. At the cathedral more than 3,000 can come. A cathedral is a church.

On Saturday we went to the white house and the international spy museum. When we went to the white house it was cool because it was a self guided tour. The white house tour was shorter than I thought. The spy museum was cool because you got a new identity, and you have to memorize a lot of stuff to become a spy.

On Sunday we went to the natural history museum. The natural history museum has a bunch of mammals and dinosaur fossils. I took a picture of a monkey to show to my brother because he likes monkeys.

We went to the air and space museum on Sunday too. We saw planes that were made out of wood and planes that were made out of aluminum. The Wright brothers made a plane out of wood, and it actually flew.

We went to the archives on Sunday too. The archives is where the declaration of independence and the constitution are. It said no flash photography and my grandpa did flash.

We saw the Lincoln memorial on Sunday to. The Lincoln memorial was cool because there was a statue of Abraham Lincoln 19 feet tall sitting in a chair. We did the Jefferson Memorial. There is also a tall statue of Thomas Jefferson standing in the Memorial. Then we saw the FDR Memorial. FDR stands for Franklin Delonor Roosevelt.

On Monday we went to the capitol building, the bureau engraving and printing, the mall, the national aquarium, the Washington monument and the veterans memorial. The capitol building was huge. I liked going under the dome of the capitol. On the top of the capitol was a statue named freedom. The engraving and printing was really cool because that is where they make all of the money. We didn’t really do much at the mall. We just walked by it. The aquarium was cool because I like fish. There was an octopus exhibit but we couldn’t see the octopus. We couldn’t go up in the Washington monument because the tickets were all sold out. The veterans memorial was a big wall of peoples names that died in the war.

I had a great time at Washington dc. I hope I can go again some other time.
